Betsy Ross Flag
The Betsy Ross Flag is named after the seamstress who is said to have sewn the first American flag in 1776 at the request of George Washington. Its design – featuring 13 stars arranged in a circle – symbolized the unity of the original 13 colonies, each star representing one of the colonies that fought for independence from Britian.
