Annual Dinner 2025
You are invited. On Sunday November 16, 2025 the Society will host the 53rd Annual Meeting in The Phoenix room, of the Holy Family Club, 515 W Mauch Chunk St, in Nazareth.
Our theme this year is: “A Remembrance of Attorney Walter Peters and his wife Margaret.” Attorney Peters was the Henry Family legal counsel and was instrumental in assisting Mary Henry Stites with the foundation of our Society. He was also an avid supporter of American history. Attorney Gary Asteak will preside over this special program with some unexpected surprises.
Our program is: “Early Northampton One-Room Schoolhouses” presented by Joel Hoffner. Mr. Hoffner is a Lehigh Valley native who has cataloged collections at the Moravian Historical Society, Moravian Archives, Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society, and National Museum of Industrial History. He has a passion for local maps that began when he worked for the Lehigh Valley Joint Planning Commission while a student at Lehigh University. In 2023 he initiated a project to identify, map and document 413 early schoolhouses in Northampton County. He will share pictures, locations and stories that became the basis for a book about his discoveries.
About the meal: We have heard you and are responding. Since many of us are getting older and have changing dietary needs and schedules, we are offering, the following revised menu and also a vegan option if requested. Hot Buffet, server assisted. Featuring Turkey Breast with Herbal Onion Gravy, Mashed potatoes with bacon, Corn bread, Cranberry sauce, Honey Glazed carrots, Green beans with crispy onions and almonds, Pecan Pie and Ice cream, Hot and Cold beverages.
We have also adjusted the time to better meet your scheduling. Sunday November 16 – 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. 1:00 pm – Cocktail hour, and Cash Bar. Meal service will begin at 1:30 pm, Bar will be open during the meal.
The Phoenix has convenient parking and easy access. We chose an early Sunday afternoon so our guests do not need to drive home late.
