What Did You Do During the War, Dad (and Mom)?
The Henrys in Lancaster during the Revolution.
People still think and write that William Henry of Lancaster—the first in the long line of Henry family gunsmiths—was a gunsmith during the American Revolution. He wasn’t, though, and by 1775 or 1776 he hadn’t labored as a gunsmith for fifteen years. But Henry was an important patriot, praised by local, state, and continental authorities for his services during the Revolution.
So, what did William Henry (and Ann Henry) do during the war?
ABOUT THE MEAL – We are offering, the following revised menu and also a vegan option if requested.
Hot Buffet – (server assisted)
Turkey Breast with Herbal Onion Gravy – Mashed sweet potatoes – stuffing with bacon – Cranberry sauce –
Honey glazed carrots – green beans with crispy onions & almonds. Hot & cold beverages – Ice cream.
A VEGAN or Gluten FREE entre will be available if noted with your reservation.
Sunday October 4, 1:00 pm – Cocktail hour – cash Bar will be open during the meal. Meal service will begin at 1:30 pm and a very short business meeting to follow.
The Phoenix has convenient parking and easy access. There is an access ramp to the right of the stairs.
