50 Star American Flag
The current 50 star American flag was designed in 1958 by 17 year old high school student Robert G. Heft as a class project, using $2.87 worth of blue cloth and white iron-on material to modify a 48 star flag. Heft rearranged the stars into a nine alternation rows of six and five to anticipate Alaska and Hawaii’s statehood.
