“New” Gunmakers Fair at Kempton

Nov 8, 2021 in News

Jacobsburg Historical Society is pleased to announce that the “New” Gunmakers Fair at Kempton will be held at the Kempton Community Center on July, 29, 30, 31, 2022!

The Gunmakers Fair at Kempton will be carrying on a tradition that Chuck Dixon started over 37 years ago to bring together gunmakers, artisans, and like-minded people to his muzzleloading shop in the rolling hills of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Sadly, in 2021 the Dixon family decided to discontinue the Gunmakers Fair at Dixon’s.

The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, The Honourable Company of Horners, Jacobsburg Historical Society, and the Pennsylvania Federation of Black Powder Shooters have partnered together to continue the traditions that the Dixon family started by bringing together gunmakers, artisans, horners, and juried vendors to our new venue at the Kempton Community Center in Kempton Pennsylvania, only 3.5 miles past Dixon’s Muzzleloading Shop. The Gunmakers Fair at Kempton is dedicated to promoting muzzleloading through seminars, a living history encampment, demonstrations, and other educational based programs. The Rifle and Accouterments judging will be continued at this new event in the same tradition as it has always been done.
